MILZERU – Puncak acara Billboard Music Awards (BBMA) 2021 kembali digelar. Acara tersebut berlangsung pada Minggu, 23 Mei 2021 waktu setempat atau Senin, 24 Mei 2021 waktu Indonesia. Sejumlah nama artis telah diumumkan sebagai pemenang penghargaan.
Nick Jonas menjadi pemandu acara malam penganugerahan yang diadakan di Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, California, Amerika Serikat tersebut.
Selaras dengan perolehan nominasi terbanyak, The Weeknd juga memenangi penghargaan terbanyak tahun ini termasuk Top Male Artist, Top R&B Artist, dan Top R&B Album. Sebagian besar kemenangan The Weeknd diperolah berkat album “After Hours”.
Sementara itu, untuk artis perempuan, Taylor Swift berhasil unggul atas Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, dan Megan Thee Stallion di kategori Top Female Artist.
Pada kategori duo atau grup, BTS berhasil menang atas Maroon 5, Dan+ Shay, AC/DC, dan AJR. Grup asal Korea selatan itu juga memenangi penghargaan Top Social Artist untuk kelima kalinya secara berturut-turut, sejak mendapatkan penghargaan pertama mereka pada 2017.
Di lini rap, Pop Smoke mendominasi kemenangan. Rapper asal Amerika itu berhasil membawa pulang penghargaan Top Rap Artist, Top Male Rap Artist, dan Top Rab Album, serta penghargaan sebagai pendatang baru terbaik (Top New Artist).
Untuk musik latin, kemenangan didominasi oleh Bad Bunny, sedangkan di kategori country didominasi oleh Morgan Wallen.
